The City of Vancouver is proud to be a partner for Earth Hour 2009. We\'re powering down City Hall but we need your help to make the Vancouver skyline go dark at 8:30 pm on March 28, to show the world our collective commitment to action on climate change.
To make Earth Hour much bigger than last year we need your help to get as many residents and local businesses signed up as possible. We also want to help make Earth Hour part of our everyday lives and to let you know you aren\'t alone in taking action to protect the climate.

Masters of Networking Award Gala Vancouver

This weekend is the BNI Gala.
The BNI Gala is an Annual Awards Gala recognizing BNI BC\'s Master Networkers. Includes awards ceremony, dinner, dancing.
The BNI Gala Theme this year is Mardi Gras so there should be plenty of costumes. It is going to be a lot of fun! What a great way to network!
The Pacific Club presents: Speaker Event with Mr. Dale Parker, Translink Board Chair

Mr. Dale Parker has been self-employed as a corporate director since 1998. He currently serves on the boards of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, GrowthWorks Ltd., Century Mining Ltd., UBC Investment Management Trust Inc. and Encorp Pacific. Prior to January 1998, he has held various senior executive positions such as president and CEO of the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia, president of White Spot Limited, executive vice-president of Shato Holdings Ltd. and chairman and CEO of British Columbia Financial Institutions Commission.
Mr. Parker is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Graduate School of Business Administration, Harvard University. He is also active in a number of charitable and non-profit organizations including chair of the Pacific Parkinsons Research Institute, vice-chair of the Vancouver Police Board and a member of the BC Cancer Research Centre Building Committee.

Date/Time: Thursday Feb. 26 from 7-9 a.m.
Cost: The cost of breakfast (Around $10-15. There is no set menu).

This free event will feature a competition where 5 contestants deliver a 60 second pitch, idea, recruiting message, or elevator pitch from a milk crate. This could be talking about their company, a start-up idea, new technology, hiring, or raising capital.
